A New Partnership with the American Express Foundation
![]() |
We’re excited to announce the addition of the American Express Foundation as an NAS funding partner for 2008. The American Express Foundation will be the exclusive funder for the first wave of our programming for tomorrow’s top leaders in arts and culture.
“American Express is respected worldwide for the highest levels of service, integrity, and leadership,” said Russell Willis Taylor, President and CEO of National Arts Strategies. “Their values and expertise are a perfect match for our new investment in the arts and culture professionals who will be taking the lead in our field over the next five to ten years.”
This new leadership initiative is designed specifically for those who will fill the top positions of the nation’s leading arts organizations over the next five to ten years. Working with NAS, these leaders will have the unique opportunity to design their own professional development using our online community web site. An international community of arts professionals will work with NAS to identify key concerns and interests, and to design an educational event to be held in summer 2008. The program will start in January 2008 with the launch of an online community area specifically for this next wave of leaders. Sign up now to receive an invitation to the online discussion at www.artstrategies.org/future.
We are proud to be working with American Express in their work to preserve and enrich our diverse cultural heritage, and to develop tomorrow’s leadership. We look forward to the contribution our proven approaches can make to the accessibility of cultural works and historic sites, and to providing current and future not-for-profit leaders with practical opportunities to learn and build leadership skills.
