NAS Program Kicks Off National Performing Arts Convention
As part of NAS’ continuing dedication to fostering skilled leadership in the arts, NAS will kick off the four-day 2008 National Performing Arts Convention (NPAC) on June 10th with a pre-convention executive program. Three full-day, intensive sessions will be offered to the senior-level staff and board members of a diverse assembly of attending dance, music, opera, theater, and arts service organizations. Following NPAC’s uniting theme of “Taking Action Together,” members of NAS’ faculty of top business school professors from Harvard and Stanford will offer new approaches to partnerships that will help participants realize their vision and tap into the collective creative energy of the entire performing arts sector.
Based on their interests and needs, participants will choose between three educational seminars: Opening the Right Doors: A Strategic Approach to Selecting Effective Partners; The Art (and Science) of Negotiation; and Cause Marketing: New Strategies for Corporate Partners. The seminars will cover relevant topics ranging from the pursuit of valuable alliances both within and outside of the nonprofit arts sector to sensitive, but effective collective bargaining strategies.
Building a more powerful and vibrant arts community starts with talented and creative leaders who are willing to cross artistic disciplines and work together to advance the sector as a whole. NAS is committed to contributing services that will help bring innovative and strategic thinking to this exciting collaborative process at NPAC and beyond.
More information can be found on the NPAC website.
