PRESENTED APRIL 28, 2011

No matter what you do, accomplishing your goals involves other people – whether that means working with colleagues, managing volunteers, engaging audiences or appealing to donors. So what can you do to make it more likely that people will tell you “yes?”  What strategies can you use to influence people – and what can you do to ensure that you’re using them honestly and ethically?  This small group discussion is your opportunity to explore your questions about using influence strategies to help you achieve your goals with a leading expert in organizational behavior, Dr. Paula Caproni.

Professor Caproni serves on the faculty at the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan where she teaches courses in leadership, interpersonal skills and team development.  In advance of the live Q&A session, you will receive a recording of Professor Caproni explaining how people make decisions and scientifically proven strategies that build on that knowledge to evoke positive responses.  You will spend the live discussion exploring your questions about how to use those strategies to increase your influence successfully and ethically so that you’re able to be more effective in your endeavors.

About Talk with an Expert

Talk with an Expert is an online videoconference that enables you to get immediate answers to your critical questions straight from the expert.  Because it can be challenging to listen and craft questions at the same time, we provide you with a recording of the professor discussing the topic so you can prepare your questions in advance of the live event.  While we typically encourage team participation for these events, the nature of this content is more appropriate for individual participation so you’re able to freely explore your questions.  In light of this, participation will be limited to 25 participants and the tuition is $35 per person.
