Working with groups with diverse backgrounds and different points of view creates unique challenges. Bringing these different voices together is a necessary art in everything from staff projects and board meetings to volunteer recruitment and advocacy efforts. Managed well, this diversity becomes a rich resource for new ideas and solutions. Different Perspectives, New Ideas helps participants work more effectively in teams - from assembling the best groups to creating an environment where challenging new ideas are welcome and heard.
In this session, Professor Margarent Neale provided participants with proven approaches to realize the full potential that exists within groups and teams. At the end of this session, participants were able to:
Understand how to use diversity effectively in teams
Ensure nonconforming opinions are voiced and considered by the team
Become more influential as leaders and participants in teams
