The Chief Executive Series is an executive education series for the top executives of the most outstanding arts and culture institutions in the United States and abroad. This series of events will focus on the most pressing, and seemingly intractable, business challenges arts and culture organizations face. Each of these executive leadership events will target one critical challenge, and will engage our top cultural executives with the newest ideas, frameworks, and expertise from across disciplines, industries, and countries.
The Chief Executive Series has been created specifically for the top executives of the largest cultural organizations in the country – those in the strongest position to create breakthrough strategies for their organizations and to serve as examples for our field. Each event will be an invitation-only residential program developed and presented in partnership with a leading University.
The first event of this series focused on issues of convergence: new entertainment and leisure trends, new expectations among donors, broad-based cultural and demographic change, and increasing competition are making these organizations increasingly complex to lead. The three and a half day residential event was developed and presented in partnership with the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. We selected the University of Michigan as the ideal partner for this initiative because of the Ross School's cross-disciplinary approach to executive education, top-tier faculty, and focus on application of ideas to real-world business projects.
The complex issues involved in leading a cultural nonprofit today can challenge even the most skilled management team. Using our first-hand experience in the arts and working with faculty from leading business and graduate schools, we deliver executive-level programs that help you find new opportunities, manage your resources and lead your organization toward its mission.
