Our established organizational leadership programs
address a broad mix of capacity-building needs, organization
sizes, and learning styles. We also take on a limited
number of custom engagements each year to help institutions
and communities apply new learning to their unique
situations. We develop custom programs for states
and municipalities, large cultural institutions, and
alumni of our programs. NAS senior staff also support
the field through advisory engagements with grantmakers,
agencies, and other service providers; participation
in sector-level collaborations; and speaking engagements.
NAS works with funders to create custom leadership programs for states and large cities;
with service organizations to create custom programs for their memberships; and with large
cultural institutions to create custom programs for an institution. These programs
leverage NAS team seminars, faculty, facilitation and consulting resources, and our expertise
in the design and delivery of learning-based organizational improvement programs.

Facilitation and consulting
NAS is not a consulting company, but we do take on a small number of projects each year
to facilitate innovation and growth in individual organizations. We focus on alumni of
our programs, and projects we believe can create new examples for our field. Our approach is
based on facilitation and the development of new expertise for organizations, rather than
an outsourcing approach. To learn more or discuss a project,
please call or email us. »
Advisory services
NAS has a long history of collaboration with grant makers, agencies, research organizations,
and service providers here in the United States and overseas. Our senior leadership undertakes
a number of advisory projects each year to help with the planning, design, development,
and evaluation of capacity building initiatives in the arts and culture sector.
