The Houston Arts Leadership Program offered a three-year
structured curriculum of seminars, facilitation and
consulting services, and cross-organizational events
for the community of Houston and Harris County. The
program was developed with the generous support of
local and statewide funders, and in partnership with
the Houston Arts Alliance. The key funders for this
program were the Houston Endowment, The Brown Foundation,
The Fondren Foundation, Duke Energy, The Meadows Foundation
and the Texas Commission on the Arts.

The design of the Houston Arts Leadership Program
allowed for intensive investment in a select group
of organizations, while creating a new leadership
resource for the broader community. A cohort of organizations
was selected to form a core group of participants
in the program. Cohort organizations attended each
team seminar, participated in additional cross-organizational
events to help with the application of ideas from
the seminars, and accessed financial support for individual
facilitation and consulting projects. At the same
time, all of the team seminars were open to the full
Houston community, allowing a broad mix of organizations
to benefit.
