Cleveland Foundation's Arts Advancement Program

Participating organizations

  • Apollo's Fire
  • Cleveland Film Society
  • Great Lakes Theater Festival
  • Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland
  • Young Audiences of Northeast Ohio

The Cleveland Foundation's Arts Advancement Program was designed to enhance the management skills, improve operating efficiency, and improve financial positions of participants. The three-year initiative addressed the chronic under-capitalization of Cleveland-area mid-sized arts organizations while developing a network of highly skilled leaders, including staff and board members.

The Arts Advancement Program provided a curriculum of executive education, collaborative learning sessions, and individual mentoring, coaching, and expert assistance. In addition, each participating organization received a three-year operating support grant and a one-time advancement grant to improve the organization's long-term stability.
