Logistics and Information
We are thrilled you are joining us and we are here to help you plan your travel. You will join Alumni from the first three cohorts of the Chief Executive Program for a 2½-day retreat designed to help you reconnect, recharge and refocus. Mornings will be spent in workshops led by Horst Abraham on leadership and fierce conversations. We’ll then come together in the afternoons for focused, facilitated working groups where you will share your insights with your colleagues and workshop ideas — looking at success stories, perennial problems and how to weigh trade-offs. Of course, there will also be time for hikes, yoga and trips to the Owl bar! Should you have any questions regarding the upcoming convening, please contact Carolyn Supinka at email@example.com or 571-482-5789 x26.

To book your room, please call the reservations department at 1-800-892-1600 mentioning that you are booking for National Arts Strategies Alumni Event.
The reduced room rate does not include Utah State lodging tax, currently 11% and subject to change; daily housekeeping gratuity of $4.00 per room per night and round-trip porterage of $10.00 per guest, Environmental Impact Fee of 5% on the total pre-tax lodging room charges, which supports the programs and initiatives that preserve the fragile environment of the canyon.
Sundance has extended the reduced-rate rooms to NAS participants before and after the event, on the nights of November 10-12 and November 16-18, should you wish to extend your reservation. This is a great opportunity to meet with small working groups or spend more time with your colleagues.
Check-in time is 4 pm and check-out time is 11 am. Please call Sundance Resort at 800-892-1600 for more details.
Please note that the resort is located on mountainous terrain and at a high altitude (6100’/1859m) that may take some time for you to adjust to. Should you require a room that is closer to the base area of the resort, please make sure to let the reservations department know.
Wifi and Phone Lines
Each room is equipped with complimentary wireless internet service and a landline telephone. Please note that the only consistent cell service at Sundance is AT&T. All other services are spotty. For more details on amenities, please see the Sundance website.
Getting to Sundance
The closest airport is Salt Lake City International Airport. Please allow one hour to get from the airport to Sundance Resort.
For car service, we recommend using Snow Country Limousine. To manage costs, we suggest that you coordinate travel with a group of colleagues. Due to the distance between the resort and the airport the cost of a ride is quite expensive and we greatly encourage you to coordinate travel together. The average cost for an SUV to the resort is $185 one way.
As a courtesy, NAS is happy to arrange group travel. By collecting flight information, we can reserve car service for those who are arriving/departing within the same hour. The total amount will be divided amongst the group and an invoice from Snow Country Limousine will be sent to you following the event. If you are interested in NAS arranging group travel for you, please email your flight information and a cell phone number to Carolyn Supinka, email@example.com, as soon as possible.
Driving from SLC/Airport:
When exiting the airport, turn right onto I-80 east. Then turn right onto I-215 heading south. Next take I–15 South towards Provo. Continue on I-15 to exit #272 (which is 800 North in Orem) turn left heading east. Stay on 800 North through Orem to the mouth of the canyon. Stay in left hand lane, which will drop onto Hwy 189. Continue up the canyon approximately 7 miles to Scenic Route #92 which is the first left after the tunnel. Sundance is 2 miles up the canyon on the left.
Sundance’s preferred car rental agency is Enterprise Rent-a-Car. For information on preferred corporate rates (starting at $42/day) please contact the Sundance concierge at 801.223.6000 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Should you decide to rent a vehicle for the duration of your stay, choosing one with 4-wheel drive is recommended for the mountains during this time of year.
If you have any dietary restrictions, please notify Carolyn Supinka at email@example.com by October 20th.
Breakfast, lunch, dinner, hors d’oeuvres, and beverages provided for all meals and events except for the dinner of Monday 14th. On Monday, November 14th after our scheduled programming, you will have a free night. You are free to explore the resort, take a hike, get pampered at the spa, or take a trip into Salt Lake City or Park City! Whether you’d like to take this time to relax and enjoy the beautiful setting or grab dinner with some of your colleagues, we encourage you to make the most your experience here at Sundance Mountain Resort.
Below is a link to a downloadable document featuring some dinner options, on and off the resort. Snow Country, our transportation provider, can arrange shuttles for guests to come and go if you do not have a rental car. They can be reached at 435-714-0159 or http://snowcountrylimo.com/
Please dress for comfort, keeping in mind that comfortable footwear is best for Sundance’s mountain terrain. The Sundance campus offers a variety of recreational options including hiking, biking, and yoga, so please pack accordingly and check the resort website for an update on what recreational activities you can expect in November.
