Annabel Jackson is an evaluator with 21 years experience,
16 running her own management consultancy. She has
carried out more than 200 projects for local and central
governments, nonprofit organizations, foundations
and private sector companies. This work includes defining
performance, establishing performance measurement
systems, auditing existing systems, training staff
in performance measurement, carrying out evaluations,
and evaluating evaluations produced by other organizations.
In the last seven years, Ms. Jackson has specialized
in the arts, especially in more complex performance
measurement issues such as artistic quality and social
and individual impact. She has produced an evaluation
toolkit for community arts organizations and has written
four diagnostic tools for National Arts Strategies.
Her main research interest is on how human factors
undermine the accuracy and validity of performance
measures. Ms. Jackson has three degrees, the last
an MBA from Imperial College London.
